Protect Our Great Lakes: Support Efforts to Shut Down Line 5
Donation protected
How important are the Great Lakes to you?
Concerned Michiganders - from tribal leaders to our own governor - have been calling for Enbridge’s Line 5 oil pipeline to be decommissioned for decades, to stop running oil under the Straits of Mackinac, through the water we hold dear in our hearts. In an effort to protect the Great Lakes, we are raising awareness about the threat of Line 5 – an expired pipeline that could cause a catastrophic oil spill in Lake Michigan and Lake Huron – an oil spill which would contaminate watersheds and waterways in every part of the state. A group of water-loving humans have come together to organize Water Weekend, a weekend of education and community-building, coinciding with the Mackinac Bridge Walk on Labor Day. We need help paying for supplies and printing, and to have things like food, drinking water, and restrooms at our community-building events leading up to the bridge walk. All donations will be utilized to support efforts to stop Enbridge’s proposed Line 5 tunnel project under the Straits of Mackinac.
