Monte Blackburn Ltd have submitted an outline planning application to Blackburn council to develop this beautiful landscape into an industrial estate with large B2 and B8 units . The site is 1.6 km distance from SSSi which contains valuable peat and many red listed ground nesting birds nest on the fringe of this site and development on this site will lead to distruction of this vital habitat.
Funds raised will allow us to obtain expert advice and representation to object to this application.
The area in question provides vital habitats to red listed lapwings, snipes, oyster catchers , hare, deer, barn owls and much more, bordering on the current SSSI site it plays a crucial role in preserving our wildlife.
There are major safety concerns on this stretch of road with over 180 accidents in the past 17 years . Independent traffic surveys have shown that the B6232 will be up to full capacity if this development takes place.
