Protect Black Women

This fund will be used to purchase self-defense items such as pepper spray, personal alarms and other safety devices for Black women/femmes and queer persons in Oakland and the Bay Area. Any additional funds will be used to support Black women interested in self-defense receive community defense training and towards supporting those leading that work.



Racist attacks are on the rise in this country and the Bay Area is being targeted as a battleground for fascist violence.

Undeterred by the police, racists in the Bay Area have committed numerous hate crimes in the past year,  including heinous acts of violence against the people left most vulnerable by the state's indifference. 

Last night two young Black sisters were attacked by a white man with a knife on BART, the area public transportation system used by millions of people every year. Nia Wilson was 18. Her throat was cut and she died shortly after the attack. Her older sister Lahtifa Wilson survived.
The man BART police say committed the murder is still at large.**

We are not safe.
