Fighting For Our Legal Rights as Parents- LGBTQ

Hello- We are Juli & Catherine. Mama J & Mama C to our 6-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son.

We find ourselves in a challenging and emotionally draining situation as we fight for legal and physical custody of our daughter. We are a same sex married couple who used a known sperm donor to start our family.

In March of 2023, our daughter's sperm donor, who was a very close friend, filed a lawsuit for joint legal and physical custody of our daughter. A mutual agreement was made prior to donating sperm that he would have no legal rights to any child conceived using his donated sperm. 5 years later, he has apparently changed his mind. Our life has been turned upside down as we try to navigate the legal system to protect our rights as lesbian parents.

We are reaching out to you, our extended family and community, for help in securing our family's future. The legal hurdles we face have taken a toll on us, both emotionally and financially. The legal expenses have been mounting at an alarming rate, and we are unable to navigate this difficult path on our own.

The only home and family that our daughter knows is ours. The thought of being separated from her is a nightmare we cannot bear. We deserve the chance to continue providing a loving and stable home for our precious daughter without turning her life upside down if our sperm donor were to win.

The funds we raise through this campaign will be dedicated to covering the escalating legal fees, court costs, and other expenses linked to our custody case. With your support, we hope to continue the legal representation we desperately need to protect our family's rights.
