The Race to Get Protective Gear to NJ Hospitals
US medical professionals on the frontline of this war are being compromised everyday due to a national shortage of protective gear such as masks, face shields, gowns, and hair nets.
In New Jersey, hospital workers are being asked to reuse N95 or surgical masks and see patients without other protective gear. As the burden of coronavirus increases everyday, so does their risk of infection. Without our medical professionals, we will lose this battle.
However, hospital systems, local and national governments are not moving fast enough to protect our healthcare workers. The hope is that they will step up soon, but until then, we must rise to help our friends, colleagues, and relatives on the forefronts of this battle.
We are a coalition of medical students in New Jersey and are working with an overseas supplier to provide CDC and NIOSH-certified N95 masks to hospitals in need. The estimated turnaround time is 10 days so the sooner we can gather enough funds to order, the better!
We will use your donations to purchase masks from our overseas N95 manufacturer and deliver them to hospitals across New Jersey. We will share updates and pictures as they come in and are delivered!
We need your help to build this initiative and provide a steady flow of supplies to hospitals in New Jersey.
Please consider contributing to this initiative-- your donation will significantly impact the lives of those around you.
Until then, please share and pitch in however you can. Thank you!
