Provide Aid to Typhoon and Flood Victims in the Philippines

Hi, My name is Jen and I am fundraising for the Typhoon affected Bicol Region of the Philippines.

I was born and raised in the area that has been severely affected by the recent typhoon and flooding the last two days. I have witnessed firsthand the devastating impact this natural disaster has had on my community, with many losing their lives & homes. Our appeal is not just about rebuilding homes, but also about providing the bare essentials - food, beds, and blankets. Something as small as a $1 donation can have a big impact, providing a meal or a comfort to someone in need. The Philippines is known to be among the most disaster-prone countries in the world because of its location along the Pacific Ring of Fire, and the Typhoon belt of the Western Pacific Ocean region. It is exposed to devastating natural disasters such as typhoons, floods, landslides, and earthquakes. According to the Philippine National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, last year alone, 326 natural disasters occurred in the Philippines that killed 504 people, affected 15.8 million, and caused over P20 billion (approximately $396 million) in damages (source: Philippine National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council). Considering the frequency and severity of natural disasters in our region, it is vital that we act now.
