Provide Pilgrim’s Hospice with a cuddle bed

As Carl’s family, we would like to raise as much money as possible to allow the Pilgrim’s Hospice in Canterbury to buy another cuddle bed.

Many of you knew Carl, as a man around town, enjoying a drink & a family man. Carl spent a year quite ill, and the proud man he was didn’t want everyone to know his struggles with his cancer.

Whilst Dad had been ill, the hospice was this big scary place none of us wanted to think about. He had gone for a week there to regulate his pain management and came back a different man. They are so kind, knowledgeable and helpful and helped Dad feel totally at ease - almost to the point he didn’t want to come home!

During Dad’s last few days, his wish was to be at Pilgrims Hospice, and luckily we managed to get him there. We had been told that not only was he in the same room, but he had the only ‘cuddle’ bed they had.

As a family, we all managed to jump on and have a cuddle, watch crappy tele with Dad and just get cosy. His wife, sisters & daughters got to spend quality time by his side, and my mum managed to sleep next to Dad for the first time in months and that’s all down to him having a cuddle bed.

To be able have spent that quality time with Dad, we would want every family to have that opportunity and so we raise as much as we can - in the hope we can get Pilgrim’s Hospice in Canterbury another one.
