Provide Relief to Lebanon's Displaced Families
Tax deductible
Here I am. A chubby baby on a beach. My name is Alex Tyminski, last name is Polish and Italian, but I am 100% Lebanese. My story is unique. I was adopted from an orphanage right in the heart of Beirut, Lebanon. My birth-mom was a teenager when she had me, displaced from her home around the time of the second major civil war in Lebanon and homeless before she was taken in by the orphanage. Growing up, I've always been so grateful for my current family. And knowing that my birth-mom had a place to have care and feel safe during a time that must have been so scary is very comforting, often giving me a feeling of peace that words could never say. Having family from Lebanon, and meeting other Arabs, all I've ever known from them is immense compassion, kindness and love. Lebanese people are strong, vivacious, fun, and extremely community oriented.
Thinking about children being away or without any family is very heavy for me and I don't know what to do except find a direct way to help. The family that adopted me is MY family. They raised me, love me, and have taught me strong values of giving back to others in need. I love my parents with my whole heart. Everyday I grapple with the acceptance of 'being lucky' under my circumstances, but I also recognize that the resources and voice I was given is a true blessing. A blessing to be able to speak out for those in need.
I am raising money for my country, for my birthplace, for the children who need to know they are loved, and for the families looking to have just any comfort or help so they too can have sense of security, like you and I.
The funds being raised here will be given to Beit el Baraka, a vetted NGO who's mission is to ensure dignity to Lebanese citizens by assisting them in their struggles by helping to give them access to food, decent livelihood, medical services and education. You can read more about what they do here. https://beitelbaraka.org/
Lebanon is currently enduring a humanitarian crisis, with thousands of families displaced by ongoing conflict. Let's make a difference together. I know that these bigger conflicts can sometimes make us feel helpless, but this is one thing you can do today. I didn't know if I would even do this. Because life is complex and messy, & filled with all types of emotions. But look, at the end of the day, my life is just filled with telling jokes, making tech people more rich, running in circles (literally), and enjoying nice walks for a coffee everyday. My life is not hard. It is privileged. It is easy. I am tired of doing nothing for a country that gave me life. So, join me in uniting on this so that we can make an impact so others can feel safe in their communities in Lebanon. More info below on Beit al Baraka and also please follow them on IG @beitalbaraka

Beit el Baraka is a secular and non-political charity, committed to serving the most vulnerable, regardless of religion and ethnicity. The emergency fund directly supports displaced families from South Lebanon, providing food, medicine, and essential supplies to those who lost everything. Every day, more families are fleeing conflict zones, leaving behind their homes and belongings in search of safety. They arrive at shelters with only the clothes on their backs, desperately needing food, medical care, and shelter.
Beit el Baraka has a proven track record of transparency and accountability. Independent audit reports, available on our website, and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) reports ensure that all donations are tracked and their impact is measured.
