Provide Warmth and Shelter for WNC Survivors

Dan Benedix here-just a regular guy living in the North Carolina RDU Triangle with a background in disaster preparedness and relief. I’m

also a pilot with a network of fellow pilots and organizers who are dedicated to helping others, all of which came together naturally when Hurricane Helene ravaged WNC.

When Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina with unexpected and unprecedented destruction, the Benedix Foundation immediately coordinated with local pilots and small plane owners to quickly deliver life saving essentials directly to the people who needed it-no red tape, no misappropriation of donations. We are neighbors helping neighbors with no strings attachex.

As roads opened, we shifted our delivery methods from air to ground, where the massive number of donations we received and organized have been able to be delivered in bulk. We've shipped over a million pounds via groun and air so far. Winter is here and we won't be stopping anytime soon.

Our current focus is helping the folks in WNC get through the winter-especially those who have lost their homes and who need time to rebuild. With Project Yurt , we provide a spacious, heated & furnished shelter tailored to the needs of each family or group who receives them. Your donations go directly toward our relief efforts including the purchase of these items.

As the Benedix Foundation continues to grow, we are dedicated to being prepared for the next disaster or hardship. We have a proven system that is effective and efficient, ensuring boots on the ground as soon as the present danger has cleared.
