Providence Strike Relief Fund- ONA
Donation protected
Nurses at Providence Portland Medical Center, nurses at Providence Seaside Hospital, and nurses and fellow clinicians at Providence Home Health and Hospice (proud members of the Oregon Nurses Association) are going on strike!
The more than 1800 nurses and clinicians voted overwhelmingly to go on strike as a result of a years-long unsafe staffing crisis, multiple unfair labor practices and devastating failures on the part of Providence management to recruit, retain and respect frontline health care workers.
The strike will begin on June 19, 2023, and we need your support!
Funds generated via the Providence Strike Relief Fund will be used to cover general expenses associated with supporting health care workers and our allies on the picket line. That includes, but is not limited to:
- Emergency funding for member needs (including financial assistance) through ONA’s strike fund
- Food delivery
- Beverage delivery
- Transportation (uber or other) to and home from the picket line
- Childcare costs for members and their families walking the line
- Picket line equipment (picket signs, bullhorns, strike captain vests, etc)
- Public awareness efforts such as advertising, social media ads, and other outreach actions
Providence nurses and clinicians who are out on strike will experience an immediate financial strain...it will also cost them additional funds to participate in the picket line! That’s why ONA is seeking donations for the Providence Strike Relief Fund - to help our members during this time of need.
(While we are grateful for community support and support from our labor siblings, ONA will not accept donations from employers, employer-sided labor advisers or consultants, or from anyone who is an agent of an employer or who is acting in the interest of an employer.)
Please note: Donations to the Providence Strike Relief Fund are not tax deductible and excess funds will be reserved for future member needs via the ONA strike fund.
