Providing a Safe Place at CPYR

I first fell in love with the stories of Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch when I was in my preteens. I heard God calling me to Bend, Oregon through the stories I read in Hope Rising and A Bridge Called Hope by Kim Meeder. Troy and Kim Meeder nursed a used up plot of land and throw away trees to create a safe place for abused and neglected horses. The rescue operation drew people who wanted to help, among those people were scared, abused, neglected, traumatized and otherwise "broken" people who empathized with the "broken" animals. The experience of rescuing and protecting horses became an overwhelming and unexpected source of hope.
The ranch grew and transformed into a not-for-profit, faith-based organization that
offers free one-on-one mentoring sessions with children. The rescued horses are rehabilitated and put into the program, to encourage and offer hope. The pillars of the ministry, as listed on their website are "Rescue the Equine, Mentor the Child, offer Hope for the Family, and Empower the Ministry.
God makes a way when He calls. I have been given the opportunity to serve the ranch for five months this summer. I will be driving to Oregon at the end of May and returning in November. God has provided housing for me through the generosity of a family living near the ranch, however there are expenses involved in moving 27 hours away from home. The internship is unpaid, so I will be sacrificing my income. I will be purchasing my own food, rent, basic living necessities, and gas. I expect to need car repairs during that period of time, as I am driving an older car 1800 miles one way.
I am asking you to consider donating to my internship fund. The greatest hope I have to offer is the hope of eternal, true life in Jesus Christ, but this organization is not about forcing belief systems on children. This is an opportunity to assist in offering support, hope, and sanctuary to children who have been labeled as "broken" whether by someone else or themselves.
While this is my dream job, it is not about me. All the money I am given will be separated from the money I have earned and used primarily for ministry-related costs. I will be posting a budget plan soon to provide more clarity. I am 100% confident in God's ability to provide everything I need to serve Him at Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch. I am so confident that when the internship is over in November, I am donating the remaining money I have raised to Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch. If you are a Christian and you don't feel God calling you to give, I ask you to pray for me, the six other interns, and the ranch.
I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and the support I have received. No amount of money, time, prayer, or encouragement is too little. Thank you for taking the time to hear me out, and helping me serve a cause I care about so deeply!ch.
