Provision for Elaine Goodner
Elaine Goodner - beloved mother, grandmother, & piano teacher to many local children - recently experienced the loss of her husband, Buddy, after a two month battle with Covid. Prior to this, Buddy had been experiencing mounting difficulties with health issues and consequently lost his job, struggling to be able to consistently work over the past several years. As a result, Buddy's passing has left Elaine in great financial need due to mounting debt, mostly from medical bills.
Buddy was known for his strong faith in the Lord, his willingness to serve whenever and wherever needed & for his giving spirit. Raised in Odessa, TX, Buddy lost both parents in his youth. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years - and then he accepted Christ as his Savior and began a life of service for the Lord. In 1974, he married Elaine, and they raised 3 children: Micah, Jonathan, and Meredith Goodner.
Buddy - alongside his wife - served for 39 years as Youth Director, Song Leader, and Deacon at Oak Trail Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church. During the last 5 years of his amazing life, in spite of very poor health, he and Elaine were able to share their gifts between several other local churches, including the church where his son, Micah, now pastors.
Elaine is facing huge medical bills, along with unexpected funeral expenses. Any amount you can give to help ease her burden, especially during a time of such significant loss, would be a tremendous blessing and deeply appreciated!
