Proyecto Mismaloya (Mismaloya Project)

Proyecto Mismaloya (Mismaloya Project) is a concerned group of volunteers in Mismaloya Mexico who’s goal is to save all the stray and abandoned animals that live there. Mismaloya is a small fishing village in the shadow of Puerto Vallarta with a population of 743. Its people are fisherman and/or work in tourist related jobs, with the Covid19 pandemic shutting down their town, region, Mexico and the world, they have found themselves unemployed and are struggling. Oscar and friends are helping as best as they can, installing custom made animal feeding stations around town for stray and abandoned dogs and cats that live in the jungle by night and wander the streets by day eating whatever they are finding on the streets, mostly trash that may ultimately kill them. These stations are refilled daily by volunteers. Proyecto Mismaloya is doing this at a cost of Mex$500 pesos (US$40 dollars) They hope to continually add as many feeders as needed. Proyecto Mismaloya is having its first spay and neuter clinic on Sunday July 12, 2020 to help control this population. They have veterinarians and a team of trained volunteers for post surgery recovery coming from Puerto Vallarta, currently they have 20 animals scheduled but would like to do more. The cost for each surgery is $350 Mexican pesos (US$15 dollars) for supplies and medicine per animal. Please help us spay and neuter more animals. They are planning on repeating these clinics as often as possible to keep the stray animal population from growing larger.
