Help Kristen Beat Cancer

Hello everyone --

I never thought I'd be writing something so vulnerable like this.. let alone about someone I love dearly... But here we go:

As many of you know, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. A year into my mom's recovery from Stage 2 breast cancer, my mom's cancer came back and metastasized into Stage 4 bone, breast and brain cancer. While my mom is a walking miracle, that same annoying cancer has chosen my younger sister, Kristen, as its next fighter.

According to her pathology report, Kristen has grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma, it's a triple negative cancer and does not respond to estrogen or progesterone. The cancer has a proliferation index of 70% which is considered extremely high, BUT because her wonderful doctors caught it so early it won't have time to grow. They are acting FAST.

She recently met with her doctors to discuss options for an egg retrieval process so she can still have children. Soon she will begin 20 grueling weeks of chemotherapy, followed by a double mastectomy. Kristen and her doctors feel confident in her treatment plan, and she remains highly optimistic.

It breaks my heart that she is going through this, so I share this with you asking for prayers and support. I want my sister to focus on fighting her cancer and not the financial burden of it all.
