Adrian’s Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Catalina and I’m fundraising for Adrian Mendez and his family. We need your support to help a local family who is in great need right now.
Adrian has been in Seattle Children’s hospital after being airlifted from Olympic Medical Center on March 20th, following the onset of sudden debilitating symptoms. He has been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune illness, Anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis. This is a difficult diagnosis, as the path to recovery is unclear. He is currently in the ICU.
Adrian is such a kind-hearted, loving, and hardworking 16 year old. He has maintained a 3.95 GPA throughout high school and was so excited to be on the varsity soccer team this year. Adrian is projected to spend longer in the hospital and will most likely require further inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.
His parents and three sisters have been rotating and taking time off of work to support him in the hospital. As you can imagine, this is incredibly difficult emotionally and financially for his family.
Anything that you are able to donate would be of great help for them to be able to focus on caring for Adrian and his recovery. The money will be used towards basic necessities like food and gas while going back and forth to Seattle, as well as any medical bills that they will receive, which are anticipated to be significant.
It’s very difficult to ask for help, but The Mendez Family needs our help now and would be so grateful for the support.
