Her Last Wish: Sending Prudence Home to Cape Town

Donation protected

Dear friends, family, and compassionate souls,

We are raising funds for the burial of our mother Prudence Virginia Mubita, a remarkable woman whose impact on our lives is immeasurable. Her sudden passing has left a void that can never be filled, but her memory will forever shine brightly in our hearts.

When a simple stomach ache quickly revealed stage 4 cancer, we were in disbelief. Prudence was a healthy person. She enjoyed nature and loved to garden. She walked 5 miles a day, ate an organic diet, and shared her knowledge of herbal medicine with her community.

For three weeks she prayed and fought to get stronger for her family. On September 9, 2023 she took her last breath in the presence of her loved ones. We never imagined losing our mother. We wish she were still here.

As we honor Prudence's legacy, we are faced with the financial challenges of fulfilling her final wish. Prudence expressed a heartfelt wish to go back to her home, Cape Town, South Africa. She loved the ocean and the beauty of the mountains.

The costs associated with arranging a funeral and burial in Cape Town are substantial, and we humbly ask for your support. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to ensure that Prudence Mubita's journey home is a dignified and beautiful one.

Prudence was a woman of faith. She always said “From the top of my head to the bottom of my soles, my body belongs to the Lord!”

She was intelligent and graduated top of her class. She used her skill as a missionary nurse at Yuka Adventist Mission Hospital in Zambia where she cared for the community. The love for her family led them to the United States where she continued her passion for healthcare at Jordan’s Nursing Home. She cared for everyone around her beyond her family, friends, and community.

She was dependable, steady, and consistent. She impressed others with her kindness, honesty and humor. She had a smile and laugh that could light up a room. Prudence was willing to drop everything to help others.

Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving because it was a holiday that was selfless and brought families together. Prudence loved to spend time swimming with her granddaughter, spa treatments, and singing songs with her grandson. Her legacy lives on in her 3 children and 2 grandchildren who she loved dearly.

Thank you for being a part of Prudence's story and for helping us make her final wish a reality. Please share this campaign with your friends and networks, as every share brings us one step closer to reaching our goal.
