Hi! We are Adam and Felicia Pryor and we have three daughters; Callie, 9, Maci, 7, and Rosie, 4. We started our adoption journey in January of 2017 and it was anything but calm and steady. After three years in the process, we finally brought our long awaited son, Leo, home from Arizona in January of 2020. His process was long and hard with lots and lots of twists and turns. Leo, at almost eight months old, is doing phenomenal- hitting all of his milestones and is a beautiful, healthy baby! A few weeks ago, we received a phone call from our Arizona agency that Leo's birthmom is pregnant again and wants us to adopt this baby too! Talk about a shocker! We had just received Leo's birth certificate in the mail. He's still a baby, but he is going to be a big brother!
After lots of prayer and conversations, we decided to say yes. Yes, we will adopt this baby. Yes, we will give Leo the opportunity to grow up with a full biological sibling. Yes, we will endure the hard and uncertain for the immense blessing that is on the other side of it. With saying yes to the good things and emotional things, we are also saying yes to a large amount of money due in a very short time.
We do not have time to fundraise- his birthmom is a lot further along in this pregnancy than we were originally told- 21 weeks, due on Christmas Day! We are posting this link for anyone who wants to step in and help us financially. We are trying to draw from all of our resources to get this baby home. In full transparency, the total cost of this is going to be around $45-50k. We are quickly trying to finish renovating our home to sell it. Our plan is to have it sold and then move in with Felicia's parents before we fly out in December. Because our birthmom has Native American heritage, there is an additional step to this process that will keep us in Arizona for 3 to 4 weeks. Our goal here is to raise $10,000 to cover our travel expenses, but anything over and above that would be applied directly to our adoption fees.
