PS 295 Save Our Music Program!

PS 295 Parent Teacher Association is raising money to save our school's Music Program. PS 295 is a small Title I school in South Slope, Brooklyn. Our music program serves as a catalyst for creativity, self-expression, and personal growth, allowing our students to discover and cultivate their talents, while fostering a deep appreciation for the arts. Over the years, we have witnessed countless success stories of students who have flourished through their involvement in our program.

Unfortunately, the end of this school year came with some devastating budget cuts from the city which resulted in inadequate funding to support our Music Program next school year. This means the students will not have music education, access to instruments, band, performances, and that our beloved music teacher, Mr. Laster, will lose his position at PS 295. We refuse to let that happen. We are determined to preserve this invaluable resource and continue providing our students with the opportunity to explore the world of music, nurture their passions, and build essential life skills.

To achieve this goal, we are launching a fundraising campaign. We need to raise $70,000! That's approximately $300 per student. Your donation, no matter how big or small, no matter if it comes from your family or if your family raises that amount, will directly impact the lives of our students.

On behalf of the entire PS 295 community, our talented music teacher Mr. Laster, and our eager young musicians, we want to express our deepest gratitude for considering our appeal. Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of our students.

All donations are tax-deductible and will go directly to the PS 295 Parent Teacher Association to save the Music Program for our children. In the unlikely event that the Department of Education reverses course and funds the program, all donations will go towards building and enhancing creative arts programs at PS 295. The PS 295 PTA is completely transparent and a full accounting of our expenditures is always available.
