Dual Language (Spanish) Program

For 15 years, the PS150Q Dual Language Program has been building community and fostering cultural understanding between Spanish-speaking and English-speaking children. The program currently teaches 150 students in grades K through 5.

Despite being one of the longest-running dual-language programs in Queens, it lacks some critical educational and enrichment resources. Its age actually works against it. Additional funding from the Department of Education is reserved for new programs.

So the parents of the Dual Language students are turning to you—fellow parents, family, friends, and the PS150Q community. The program needs your support. With your help, we can:

• purchase bilingual library books for all levels;
• engage the students in Spanish-language theatre workshops;
• facilitate Spanish-language based community field trips;
• engaging the greater PS150Q community through Spanish-language movie nights and other cultural events;
• provide dual-language after-school enrichment programs; and
• give ongoing support to the teachers’ specialized educational materials needs.

Common language skills create shared culture. Your donation will help build a more integrated and enriched future in the most diverse borough of the most diverse city in the world.

Por 15 años, el Programa de Lenguaje Dual PS150Q ha estado construyendo comunidad y fomentando el entendimiento cultural entre niños de habla hispana e inglesa. El programa actualmente enseña a 150 estudiantes en los grados K a 5.

A pesar de ser uno de los programas bilingües de más larga duración en Queens, todavia nos hacen falta algunos recursos educativos y de enriquecimiento. La edad del programa realmente trabaja en contra. La financiación adicional del Departamento de Educación está reservada para los nuevos programas.

Así que nos dirigimos a usted: los padres, la familia, los amigos y la comunidad PS150Q. El programa necesita su apoyo. Con su ayuda, podemos:

 • comprar libros bilingües de la biblioteca para todos los niveles;
