As part of our overall response to COVID-19, and the way that it has impacted the foodservice industry, the Produce Alliance Foundation has started an initiative to support frontline workers and help vulnerable communities in some of the hardest hit areas of the country. Using our national produce supply chain, we have created an opportunity to use our network to support communities by feeding them fresh healthful produce. In addition, we have created a way to hit the issue of food waste head on by using product in the food service supply chain that was otherwise meant for restaurants, schools, airports and other places that have lost incredible usage due to the pandemic. Finally, this project has allowed our partners (local distributors/growers) to create work for their employees and those along the food service supply chain which in turn helps the ever growing issue of unemployment in our country.    

The funding that we have received thus far has created a multilayered blanket of help, impacting the individuals and communities who received thousands of boxes of fresh, healthful produce as well as offering a chance for resurrection for hundreds of employees working in the fresh food supply chain. 

Your donation will be used to purchase these boxes of fresh produce, distributed to hospitals and vulnerable communities in some of the hardest hit areas of the country, but our goal is to supply as many locations as possible throughout the United States.

We know it can seem hard to feel like you are making a difference when you are staying inside and close to home, but know that by helping us in this way, high quality fresh produce boxes will be deployed for immediate delivery to safe pickup spots. Because we are able to move quickly and have end to end transparency on our supply chain, we will provide daily updates on where and when these produce boxes are being delivered.
