We are Save Greater Manchester's Green Belt group.

We've been fighting to Green Belt land across the Region since 2016 when we first learned of the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework (GMSF) plan.

This plan, by Councils across Greater Manchester has gone through many changes and is now called Places for Everyone (PfE).

PfE proposes the development of thousands of hectares of Green Belt for housing and industrial units.

We believe PfE should be a 'brownfield first' policy, using previously developed land before allocating Green Belt.

Green Belt is important for many reasons, not least: local food security; use for our physical & mental health and recreation; helping reduce the effects of climate change.
