Help Rosanna get back on her feet and walk again!

October 8th 2024

I cannot fathom the fact that I am writing this as my sister is being prepped for brain surgery to remove a 3cm tumour on her brain.

Rosanna was a strong fit and very active 40 year old running the family hospitality business, serving hundreds of customers every shift. Roughly doing 20 thousand steps per day over a busy weekend plus around 50 flights of stairs per day. Rosanna was working on the weekend as usual, suddenly she found it hard to lift her right leg, it felt as though it was lagging & heavy. The following day she woke up from a long sleep and felt fine until unfortunately, or fortunately (gods will), she fell down the stairs. She was taken to the GP who advised her to get to Emergency immediately. From there multiple neurological tests including a CT brain scan showed a medium size tumour (3cm) toward the left side of the main blood vein pressing down on the top of her brain causing movement issues, which required immediate surgery to remove it. This was the day everything changed, the sudden shock from receiving such news and realisation that you may never recover to the full capacity that you are used to made everything all the more difficult to process mentally.

Now out of surgery unfortunately Rosanna has no movement in her right foot and is unable to walk unassisted. With the fear and anxiety that she will never be able to live a normal life, that her brain may never rewire itself or she will ever be able to return to work and from the horrific injuries from falling down the stairs to the 20cm cut on her head, being unable to walk, looking in the mirror and feeling unrecognizable this trauma has changed her life forever.

Rosanna lived an independent simple routine life, mainly working for the family business, babysitting her goddaughter and hanging out with close friends and family as much as possible.

Rosanna’s road to recovery both physically and mentally will be long and challenging. Her loved ones are by her bed side, offering every bit of support they can. We are asking for your help to ease the financial burden this traumatic situation that has been placed on Rosanna.

Your donations will go towards her medical and rehabilitation costs along with supporting the long and difficult journey ahead to get her back on her feet and walking as soon as possible!

We are so very grateful for your help. x
