Support the Ocean Clean-up

Hi my name is Tiago. I am in Grade 5 and part of an FFL Team. We are located in Cambridge, Canada. I know that FLL stands for First Lego League, but you might not know that. The FLL competition is global and involves two things - (1) an innovation project and (2) a lego robotics competition. The goal of the innovation project this year is to explore and improve our oceans around the world.

I am part of a team of 6. We are called the Submerged Six. We talked to the Canadian AI Ocean Cluster to understand ocean challenges - the leaders in the world on this topic. We also talked to The Ocean Clean Up group in the Netherlands that is cleaning our Oceans.

The Ocean Clean-up is a non-profit organization that removes garbage from the Pacific Ocean Garbage Patch. They have made sunglasses with plastic taken from the ocean and they also made Coldplay records to raise awareness and money to support their ocean clean up efforts.

So, as a team, we worked with Ocean Clean Up to receive some garbage from the Pacific Garbage patch so that we could also make a promotional item to raise awareness and fundraise for them to keep cleaning up the Ocean. We are going to make coasters as part of this project.

You can help us and the Ocean Clean-up by donating to help continue their prevention and clean-up efforts. After we complete this fundraiser, we will have a draw that includes all donors' names and we will give two lucky winners a one of a kind coaster made from microplastics.
