Pagosa Charter School Initiative
Donation protected
The Pagosa Charter School Initiative is a nonprofit group dedicated to providing another public K-8 school option to families in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
Our vision is to form a school that will foster creative, self-sufficient children with inquisitive minds. We are committed to providing an alternative learning environment that nurtures and engages our community’s children through outdoor education, hands-on projects, and community involvement, while continuing to align with state educational standards.
We believe that exploring subjects through participation in natural environments not only strengthens student achievement, but also inevitably supports community vitality and healthy environments. The opportunity to observe, solve problems, and participate in real-life scenarios fosters life-long learners who are socially responsible, and have a strong sense of purpose.
While we are applying for grants sp ecifically to help with the initial expenses for the application process, we need donations to help cover the gaps in those grants, such as exploring other successful charter schools outside of Colorado (mainly New Mexico), advertising/marketing and office supplies, meeting spaces and website costs, among many other unforeseen expenses that we cannot predict to put in our grant budgets. We will be filing for our 501(c)(3) status in Stage 3 of our application process, so current donations will not be tax-deductable. For future fundraising events, we foresee that our nonprofit status will be secured and can offer tax-deductable donation options at that time. For more information about our vision, please visit our website here: Pagosa Charter School Initiative
Thank you for your help in bringing a new perspective to our town!
Sincerely,
The Pagosa Charter School Initiative Board
