Family Displaced By Flood

Hi, my name is Sandra Smith and I’m raising funds for my brother, whose family home was destroyed yesterday by heavy flooding south of the Greenways in Amarillo Texas.

For years, his family tried to work with the city, Randall County, and FEMA to help mitigate the flooding caused by nearby development.

In February, the insurance company notified them that their flood insurance was canceled, citing they were “no longer in a flood zone”.

They are devastated by the loss of their home that had been in the family for generations. They have lost everything and cannot rebuild in that location.

The funds collected will be used toward getting housing and for living expenses.
