ALS Walk Fundraiser for Carla
My name is Jackie Cole. I am a proud daughter of a Mother who means the world to me.
I'm funding a cause that has been near and dear and very personal to me for quite some time. My Mother, Carla has been surviving Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) since the beginning stages in 2002. I was 17 years old when my Mother was first starting to get the affects of this disease. I have seen first hand over the many years how this disease slowly takes away ones mobility. My Mother is the most beautiful, loving, caring, smartest and strongest woman I know. I take after her, unkowingly so much. Over the years I realized I have her beauty, courage and love of life. Her faith and strength is still what pulls our family through the toughest times and binds our commitment to one another. My Father is an amazing man and devoted husband. He has been by her side 100% and has sacrificed so much for her and our small family. Their strength and commitment is what has been taught to me over the years and I know my love of life, people and strength are because of how they raised and loved me.
I've decided to be just as brave and courageous as my Mother and would like to reach a goal to raise over $2,000 for the ALS Charity Walk, October 2016 in Tucson, AZ. I want to fight for her as much as she fights for me every day. My Mother deserves to know that she is not alone in this and that with the help of amazing individuals in our lives we can work towards a tangible goal of success and accomplishment. This disease can take away the mobile strength of one person but will not defeat the inner strength of her and the inner strength of individuals who will carry her physical strength by their generous love and support.
I'm asking for you to please donate however you feel desirable. Your support will be forever close to my heart in helping me do this in support of my Mom. I will walk with pride for her every day and will keep fighting for her for the rest of my life.
Love you MOM! Keep kicking butt.
