Davis, Bennetch, Ziegler, Family EMERGENCY
Donation protected
I’m starting this fund on behalf of a The Davis Family, my good friends, who are missionaries in Belize. They have suffered a horrible accident along with extend family members who were visiting. They were driving a 15 passenger van and collided with a construction vehicle. Below is an account of the incident written by one of their daughters. Please consider donating to their extensive medical expenses.
“My extended family sustained a tragic accident this past night. We were driving and ran into an unlit construction vehicle that was in the road. The 15 passenger van took the brunt of the impact as we all got out. Some seats had to be pried out to rescue my father and grandmother rapidly. The EMTs arrived quickly and took us to the Belmopan public hospital where we all are for the time being. Thank you for all the prayers, they have been a huge help and we are praising God that we are all alive and breathing. Everyone sustained injuries but some worse than others. Keep all of us in our prayers but especially my grandmother with a brain hemorrhage and broken jaw, my grandfather with a broken hip, my mother with broken pelvis and both legs, my uncle with a broken pelvis, my father with broken ribs and pelvis, my other uncle with multiple face bones broken and all of the various other injuries and broken bones. All of the younger children including the Schmidt's, Davis' and Bennetch’s have sustained injuries but are just as talkative and joyful as ever. Again thank you for prayers and blessings we love you all.”
Below are updates in the order that they were received. Some of the most dire medical needs are being addressed, but this will be a long road. Certainly the financially journey has just started. Please continue to pray, share and give...
***Update, Mary Ruth suffered a brain Hemorrhage. There is immediate need for $75k Belize dollars ($38k USD) This is just for Mary Ruth's surgery. There are several others who will need surgery as well. The hospital has agreed to perform the surgery after initially refusing to proceed without payment (hospital in Belize.) This is great news but the need still exists
*** UPDATE Mark says “Wonderful news! I spoke to Doris, who is staying with Rand and Mary Ruth. We can thank God for her. She said that Mary Ruth is doing very well. The doctors are pleased. They were optimistic when they went in because she was alert and talking and when they did the surgery they did remove some clots and were able to stop the bleeding. There is no further bleeding according to Doris. She thinks Rand misunderstood the doctors so that's why we got the information that they weren't able to find the bleed. when she corrected him he was very happy to learn that Mary Ruth is OK."
*** UPDATE 9/8/23 from Nathanael
Richard Deeds drove Spring, Mark, and Nathanael to Merida Mexico. They are in the hospital getting checked on now.
-Bennetch's are in the states getting medical attention.
-Rand and Mary Ruth are doing well in Belize city at the private hospital after their surgeries.
-Davis children and Robert are home in Spanish lookout with friends.
