PTSD Service Dogs for Veterans
Service Dogs for Veterans
My name is Dayton Cummings and I have started a GoFundMe page so that I can turn rescue/shelter dogs into Service dogs for veterans suffering from severe PTSD. My brothers are both former Marines and now Army Green Berets with multiple deployments and I have seen firsthand their struggle through the years with PTSD. Being a veteran myself, I’m ready to give back to these servicemen and women by doing what I do best; training dogs.
I have been training dogs for over 20 years. I graduated from Triple Crown Dog School and trained under renowned dog trainer Jim Sears. The dogs I have trained have won Regional and National Championships as well as gone to the World Team 4 times. The service dogs that I train will receive a high level of professional and effective training. The dogs will be licensed to accompany their owners in any environment and will also receive free consultations in the future.
Unlike other programs, these service dogs will be handpicked from shelters and pounds. They are without a home and family. By uniting these dogs with the veterans that need them, we can provide them both with an opportunity for a better life. We will work with the VA to find veterans that have severe PTSD and provide them the help they deserve. Your generous contribution will help feed, house, and train these dogs to help veterans live a better life. Working concurrently with the VA and training each dog myself allows me the benefit of tailoring the dog to the recipient’s specific needs.
Together, we can make a difference for these heroes and match them with a companion that will enrich their lives for years to come.
