Honey Buns

Honey Buns is a metaphor in and of itself. On the surface, it appears to be a story about a boy who just wants to enjoy snacks and sex. It's about a person on the fringes of society who wants to be included in the mainstream--whatever that is. He longs to know what it’s like to be a free human. Free of inhibition and self-doubt. The metaphor of honey buns and all the other snacks that appear in the series are Parker’s way of coping. His way of suppressing his insecurities and fears. Through trial and error of trying different goodies, he finds his voice.
Honey Buns is a semi-autobiographical show about 4 young Black friends in their
early twenties enduring the ghetto that is adulthood with only each other to lean on. It centers around Parker, Niya, Lamont and Eric who are just trying to find their footing in the real world.
