Black Trans Lives Matter Mural, Baltimore

Baltimore Safe Haven is organizing a BLACK TRANS LIVES MATTER ground mural on July 10th (rain date on the 11th), to honor and recognize the need for the Black Lives Matter movement to include and amplify the needs and voices of Black trans lives. The mural will be located on N Charles Street between 21st and 23rd. We are fundraising to cover the costs of painting supplies (e.g., paint, rollers) and could really use your support! Please consider donating whatever you can or spreading the word about our GoFundMe and the mural too!
This mural is for all of the Black trans people we have lost to violence and discrimination, and to all the Black trans people living right now, in all their strength and truth. Just last week, Baltimore's own Shaun O'Conner, a trans advocate and leader, endured a hate crime. As the Black trans community stated in their recent letter (linked below), "There is a disheartening lack of outrage when Black trans women are brutalized, beaten, and ultimately killed." This mural is but one show of our outrage, and we need your support to make it happen!
