Public Health Pediatric Harvey Help
Donation protected
On August 26, 2017 Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Houston, TX. The extensive flooding in the Houston area displaced approximately 39,000 people. In response, our group of pediatricians and public health professionals started exploring ways to address the social needs of affected families through our professional capacities. Our early efforts are showing that, unfortunately the families who need the most help are facing the most difficulty accessing the millions of dollars and resources that have been donated. We are working to change that with several amazing collaborators, including West Street Recovery (http://www.weststreetrecovery.org/about/), an organization serving 150 families in the severely affected NE Houston area. In the meantime, with the holidays around the corner, our group wanted to informally bring a little light through our collective networks.
We have collected the wishlists from 10 families here - http://www.checkedtwice.com/wishlist?occasion=gxDZ9
This separate gofundme page is for those who would rather just have us distribute their donation among the above families for any needs that have not yet been met by other donors. We will deliver the donations to families by December 20th.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
