Publishing Alwyn's book

Dear Friends of Alwyn Moss,
I am writing to share an idea with you… a way to celebrate our friend’s 90th birthday and her life in general. What I have always loved about Alwyn is her life’s work and commitment to environmental, social, and political causes. She continues to write commentaries for the Roanoke Times, takes action on political and environmental issues, and lives lightly on this earth. She is a woman who has dedicated her life to help make this world better and although she did not profit financially she is rich in friends. She is now at a point where she has one more major project and that is to get her book published. She believes this book is a worthy cause. So what is this book? It is called:
NEVER LOVE A FERAL CAT- a Story of Compassion and Coexistence
Alwyn, who has written all her life feels that this work, the product of the last decade of her life is perhaps the most important to her. A memoir of her years in a rural retirement settlement that also hosted a colony of feral cats, the book goes beyond the personal into a much larger vista seeing that situation as it relates to the time we are in and our human relationship to the natural world, struggling to survive in so many places.
How caring for these individual cats became a reality to be lived and learned from, a day to day experience that had for her and others with whom she shared the tasks a spiritually enriching aspect, creating a community of people as well as of the animals. She describes how attitudes and understandings changed and grew with time. She realized how enabling fellow creatures of the planet to meet their most basic needs was fulfilling for her, giving her good feelings of belonging and inclusiveness.
The great Harvard biologist, Dr. E.O. Wilson has called this period of history the Eremocene, defined as The Age of Loneliness. As we grow older health of mind and body is often dependent on having a sense of purpose and meaning. And indeed this book with its evolutionary perspective shows how relating to other forms of life with compassion, forgiveness, interest and humor can prove to be a doorway to greater wholeness and joy is worthy to be published and read. .
This Gofundme project is on behalf of Alwyn Moss. The money would go to publish her book. This fundraising event will be going on for two weeks. I am asking that you give generously to make this project happen for our friend. Peace and cheers, annroberts
