Puerto Rico Brigade 2018
Tax deductible
The Puerto Rico brigade project in 2018 has formed to help Puerto Rican residents regain a sense of normalcy after the devastating hurricanes of 2017. Developed by students and professors, the brigade will rebuild homes and schools in some of the islands poorest communities. This isn’t charity this is solidarity, the brigade believes that safe living spaces and access to educational institutions are the keys to an empowered Puerto Rico. As of May 2018, we are in contact with families whose homes were completely leveled by the storm, as well as families who are still in need of zinc roofs and access to electricity. Although we understand our small group will never completely erase the damage the storms have done to Puerto Rico, it's our responsibility to do everything within our capacity. The group plans to return every year until entire communities have been rebuilt on the island. Remember this isn’t charity this solidarity.
