Pugsley needs Penile Surgery! And we are BROKE!

We pulled Pugsley from Fresno Humane in October. The rest of his litter had already been pulled by another rescue, but he was held behind, because his littermates were incessantly suckling on his genitalia. This is a common instinct of newborn kittens, but normally they have a mama with milk-filled teets. Orphaned kittens, often substitute with their male siblings' genitalia (bulgy, produces liquid).

Long story short, the suckling caused permanent damage to pugsley’s male parts. There is so much scarring that he is unable to extrude his male part AT ALL. The orifice which it usually extrudes from is so teeny tiny, which thankfully, allows a small amount of urine to pass (otherwise this would have been a 911 emergency a long time ago), but it’s painful for him, causes him to dribble urine frequently, use the litter box frequently, and sometimes just go completely incontinent.

He has been to the ER, through 2 ultrasounds, sedated exams, multiple rounds of blood work, UAs, etc. we’re already about $2,500 in with his care and at the end of the year, he wiped us out. With multiple human members of our team going through huge, sad personal family matters, fundraising has been bare bones and our rescue funds are in sad shape.

We do know he needs a 360 degree preputial ring resection surgery and we do know we’re doing it at Salt River Veterinary Specialists in AZ. The estimate of his surgery is between $2,400-3,500, and the variation depends on the structure and function of his manhood once the scarring is removed. We are opting to raise a little more funds as we have none (as well as low supplies) and 2023 kitten season is right around the corner and we can't begin with nothing.
