Pullar Stadium Renovations
Donation protected
Don't lose the Pullar Feeling. The Pullar made the top 4 and we won $40,000.00. We didn't win the Kraft Hockeyville $150,000.00 but if everyone who voted would donate $10. 00 or more we could raise the funds to help with the Pullar Stadium renovations. Let's do this for the Pullar's legacy.
For more than 75 years, the Pullar has provided the backdrop as thousands of area youth were nurtured and developed – both as hockey players and as productive citizens in this close-knit community.
City officials who operate the Pullar say there are several upgrades in store for the facility, including an upgrade to the fire and ammonia detection system, improvements to the refrigeration plant that produces the ice surface, a major repair and/or replacement to the roof, and the start of a new addition which would be used for several purposes, including housing the Zamboni equipment.
The facility has hosted a multitude of hockey tournaments, figure skating clubs and plenty of hockey teams, including Lake Superior State University Lakers, the Soo Eagles, and the Detroit Red Wings during pre-season training in the 1950s. NHL greats like Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsay, and Alex Delvecchio have all skated at this historic rink.
