Pump Up Ukraine: Resilient Water Interventions
Tax deductible
The Pump Up Ukraine program aims to provide resilient water interventions to provide emergency relief in disaster situations and to empower Ukrainians to upgrade and rebuild vital infrastructure.
The city of Kherson in eastern Ukraine has been inundated by flooding in the catastrophic collapse of the Nova Kakhovka hydroelectric dam on the Dniepro River.
The deluge ruined crops, flooded buildings and homes, threaten drinking water sources, displaced land mines, wrought widespread environmental damage and set the stage for long-term electricity shortages.
As authorities rushed to rescue and evacuate residents in dozens of flooded areas and get aid to those who are still there. Many people were trapped on rooftops, thousands of others are now homeless, and tens of thousands are without drinking water after the collapse.
We’re working together with Halyna Luhovaya , Deputy to the Mayor of Kherson, to assess the immediate needs and mobilize relief including water purification supplies.
We need your help to raise funds to procure and deliver the requested water filters and water purification supplies.
Our partners at Business Connect for Water have up to 8 available pallets of P&G Purifiers of Water available at about $11,000/pallet including shipping with an estimated 10-14 days delivery to Ukraine.
Our partners at Ujeta Water Filters have 80 Ujeta Care water filters and 115 replacement cartridges in stock for immediate delivery (enough to filter about 3 million litres of water). These filters are easy to use and maintenance-free, including spare parts for US $500/filter including shipping.
Help us deliver these desperately needed emergency water purification supplies as soon as possible!
