'Punla': a tender story of migration and belonging

Hello Beautiful People,

My name is Mowie Juacalla, and I am here because, just like you, I once had a dream. A dream I was so willing to achieve, but then, I grew up, and life happened. 30 years later, I stumbled across GoFundMe and told myself: Maybe it’s not too late. So, here I am, producing my first ever short film to graduate and hoping to inspire people and touch their hearts through my humble story “Punla”.

“Punla” [Seedling] is a heart-warming story about an Immigrant Father and Daughter in a small Spanish Village. This heartfelt story centres around the profound bond between a dedicated father and his courageous daughter, who finds herself in a foreign land filled with challenges and hope.

Our film explores the universal themes of family, dreams, and the power of human connection. Through the lens of this endearing father-daughter relationship, we delve into immigrants' struggles as they navigate unfamiliar terrain, following dreams and changing the norm.
