Michigan Puppet Making Collective
Donation protected
The Michigan Puppet and Mask Collective was recently birthed with the intent of using the power of our creativity to Represent the Earth at the Lansing March for Science! Be a part of our Nature Brigade!
Nature and Science are under attack. Our goal is to mobilize the citizens of Michigan to create animal and nature masks, puppets and posters to assemble a public spectacle at the Lansing March for Science, on Earth Day, April 22, 2017. The event happens from 1-4 at the State Capitol (details of march TBA).
We encourage people to take part in this community art project by organizing their own mask making party, attending one of ours, or spreading the word.
We also encourage other puppet and mask groups and art teachers from around the state to attend and participate.
A primary purpose of this fund raiser is to have the Traverse City based non-profit, Little Artshram, facilitate 2 to 3 workshops to create 1 to 2 giant puppets for Lansing to use in this march and beyond. Our community will also be gaining giant puppet making skills for our community to be able to flex our creative muscles when speaking truth to power.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
Sincerely,
The Michigan Puppet and Mask Collective Organizing Committee
DeShaun Sparkle Snead, Kathie Kuhn, Angela Chela Ashley, Mike McCurdy, Petra Daher, Emma Ashley-Grose and Shantel E Ponymous.
