Puppy Needs Hind Legs Surgeries
Donation protected
This is Magda, my 8-month-old puppy. Please click the "read more" link to see pictures and understand the need.
Magda’s rear legs have very bad difficulties. Her hind legs are messed up…the patella is mobile...when they go out, as they do usually every day, she cries & I rush to massage her leg.
I love this little girl more than I can express. It just about kills me when I hear her cry when she twists her leg, or I have to tell her I can't have her on my bed at night because I don't want her to hurt her legs.
Magda was seen by an Ortho Vet Surgeon on December 23, 2021. Both hind legs are in bad shape, but her right is worse than the left. X-Rays showed the right femur bowing, so they planned to place a “staple” on the bottom of one side to straighten out the bowing.
Magda will have X-Ray follow-ups monthly thereafter.
If surgery is required, Magda’s medical treatments will cost no less than $8,000.00.
Since Magda is still a puppy (8 months, 1 week, & 2 days today at 85.2 lbs. in December) the outlook is promising. However, then we have to deal with both patellars (kneecaps) which pop out from their grooves. That's another surgery.
The surgeon says that in time Magda should be running with the other dogs at the dog park.
Some people told me it might be better for Magda, and financially better for me to euthanize her. The thought is anathema to me, a mother of three grown children. Some people just don't get it. I was the first to pick my baby up at 8 weeks. I've been with her almost every second 24/7. She's my baby! How can I not do everything within my power to make her life as wonderful as possible? I love her more than I could ever express in words.
Please donate to Magda’s GoFundMe site to help her get the surgeries she desperately needs.
