PURA VIDA Color Studio Covid-19 Closure
Donation protected
For over 9 years Walter and I have worked hard to create an environment at our salon where all feel welcome and cared for, both the stylists and with our clients. With a very heavy heart and some tears our team decided to close PURA VIDA Color Studio prior to the state mandated closure on 3/21. We like many other small local businesses have been severely devastated by the COVID-19 crisis. Due to COVID-19 and the salon being closed we can not work. And therefore now faced with having to continue to pay ongoing expenses and financing payments with nothing coming in. After many clients reached out to offer help and at the suggestion of a client we decided to start this campaign. We are using this fundraising campaign as an effort to help us keep our business running. We want to continue to create a space for our stylists to work and be encouraged to master their craft and grow while making our community feel good.
We are currently holding on to the hope that we will be able to reopen in April. Yet we are fearful that for the safety of the community that date will be pushed back and we will be left in a state of even more uncertainty. When we are able to reopen we are expecting that it will take some time to recover from this storm. We will be using funds raised to support the salon through the next few months. We will be applying for a grant with the Michigan Small Business Relief Program when the application process is open. We are reluctant to take a loan at this time since we don’t know when we will be able to reopen to generate income to make loan payments. While Walter and I did have a little emergency cash we now see it is not going to carry us very far and we are looking out to a storm we don’t see ending anytime soon. We are trying everything we can do to reduce costs of living including trying to move our personal residence to lower our overhead.
Anything helps during this time and we are grateful for everything. However for anyone who donates $100 we will be creating a membership that will give you 10% off all regular priced services and retail purchases for a year after we reopen. If you would prefer to help in another way please visit our website to purchase a gift certificate. We are also working at making our retail available for purchase online. mypuravida.com
Gratefully yours,
