Funding Melanoma Research
Donation protected
Hello we are students attending Purdue University raising money for the Melanoma Research Program at Mayo Clinic. Mayo Clinic is known as "the hospital for hope even when there is no hope." They offer top-notch patient care, a commitment to innovative medical research and a determination to find an answer for every patient who walks through their doors.
Our fellow group member has personal ties with this illness. His sister was diagnosed with Melanoma skin cancer at the age of 21 years old. It was devastating for her, his entire extended family, and all of their friends who love, respect, and know her. She underwent a series of painful, humiliating, and lengthy tests that only a select few people will ever need at such a young age. She had to endure a both highly invasive surgery and a painful recovery for years afterwards. She must be monitored closely the rest of her life and live with a fear of reoccurrence. She is one of the lucky ones. Most of us will never even know about Melanoma in our lifetime yet 75,000 people were diagnosed with it in 2014.
Please join us in funding the research needed to better cure this growing disease. Any donation is appreciated.
Thank you
