Donation protected
Hello Generous Supporters,
Thank you for visiting our fundraiser to help 1 in 4 women, 1 in 9 men, and over 15 million children who are affected in the U.S. live in homes where domestic violence where violence has occurred at least once in the past year.
Our goal with your support is to:
Raise $100,000 to support our mission of aiding survivors of domestic violence (DV) and intimate partner violence (IPV).
$50,000 for Housing Support: These funds will provide emergency housing for individuals in immediate danger, ensuring they have a safe place to stay.
$50,000 for Operational Support: This will fund workshops and emergency toolkits, equipping survivors with the necessary resources to prevent them from returning to the cycle of DV or IPV.
Domestic violence is an epidemic that affects millions of lives every year. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), one in four women and one in nine men experience severe intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner contact sexual violence, and intimate partner stalking with impacts such as injury, fearfulness, post-traumatic stress disorder, use of victim services, contraction of sexually transmitted diseases, etc.
Furthermore, the CDC reports that nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States, equating to more than 10 million women and men in a single year.
Given these alarming statistics, it's clear that DV is an urgent issue that requires comprehensive and sustained efforts to address. At Purple Runway, we are committed to being a vessel of change, creating a safe space where families can move from merely surviving to truly thriving and empowering victims to become victors.
Additionally, we will conduct workshops in high schools and colleges to educate young people on prevention and raise awareness about emotional, mental, and physical abuse.
By fostering a culture of understanding and prevention, we aim to decrease the incidence of DV and IPV in future generations.
As thriving survivors, we understand the critical need for support and advocacy to protect those struggling and their families.
We ask for your support in creating a place where families can move from surviving to thriving and where victims can become victors.
