Puryear family troubles

Donation protected
I’m creating this GoFundMe for a good friend, Sherman, and his family as they have fallen into very hard times financially. He’s tried to stand tall and fix it himself, but he’s losing the fight.

Sherman has tried to live a good, honest life. He’s a Viet Nam Vet who wears his special hat to let others know he proudly served his country. Most important to Sherman is his loving wife Mona, their children, and grandchildren.

Though he has worked hard, Sherman has lived on a very tight budget. His income comes from a small pension, plus about $300 monthly from Social Security. His main source of income is from his Disabled Veterans Pension. That’s what he has always used to pay his mortgage to keep a roof over the heads of his family.

Sherman has always been determined to pay his bills on time, and he was doing just that until our national economy and its dreadful inflation took a huge toll on his finances. Prices of food and gas rose, along with interest rates forcing costs to rise way beyond his modest income.

Sherman was forced to file for Chapter13 bankruptcy. To keep his home he is forced to pay back $2,500 per month. That uses almost all of his Disabled Vets Pension. But Sherman was determined to get through it. Achieving a 700 credit score became a big goal to him as that would be proof that he had overcome this bad time.

But then the sky fell in on him!

His daughter ran into trouble as she lost child support for her daughter. She had no where else to go but to move in with Sherman and Mona, who were already supporting another granddaughter, living on a tightly stretched budget. But Sherman said come on, we will find a way!

So, here they came, his daughter, granddaughter and a loveable German Shepherd with a huge appetite, named Lowkey.
Right away Sherman began to fall back into the hole again. And as his bank account became drained, creditors began to demand payments and his checking account went into a hole. In the middle of it all, Mona suffered a heart attack. There is just not enough money to supply for the family.

Sherman is a proud, honest, hard working man. He is doing all he can to make ends meet. He has asked some friends for help. A few have provided some dollars. But it’s just not enough. Without some major support, Sherman and the family are going to fail.

That’s why I’m reaching out to good folks through GoFundMe to come to this good man’s aid. He needs at least $15,000. That would be enough to pay off the Chapter 13 debt and restore his bank account. From there he will be able to regain his financial independence and provide for his family.

Please help this good, honest man who has served his country, provided for his family, and has always been a friend to others in need. Today he needs you!
