Push to Beijing 2022
The United States Olympic Team does not receive government funding. Athletes rely on sponsorships, federations, and secondhand jobs to fund their Olympic journey. COVID and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics delay has resulted in us being unable to fully fund the Men’s Team on the World Cup heading into Olympic year. This lack of funding severely jeopardizes our ability to qualify a full Men’s Team at the Beijing Olympics. The Men’s Team now has to self fund $70k in order to close the funding gap and compete on the World Cup. Our team is more than capable of qualifying a full team and medaling in Beijing this winter. We need your financial support in order achieve our goals for USA.
Bobsled expenses accumulate quickly. Shipping sleds to China and Europe is approximately $44k for the season. Runners can cost up to $15k a set, drivers procure these with their own funds and require multiple sets based on ice conditions. Then there’s housing, transportation, and nutrition costs that quickly add up.
Here is the breakdown of costs to fund another sled on the World Cup. ITP(pre season trip to China to test the Olympic track) WC(World Cup) The total cost of funding a sled is $141,950 and the men are responsible for $70,000 to close the organization's funding gap.
Donation funds will be used for sled shipping, housing, and travel costs. Donations of air miles, rental car points, and hotel points would also help offset the cost of funding our season. If you can donate any points or miles please email [email redacted] to discuss amounts and details.
Thank You and GO USA!!
