Pushkin the Cats Life Saving Vet Treatment

Donation protected
Unfortunately yesterday (30th December), Pushkin, my dear friend Alexandra’s cat, had to undergo emergency treatment for bladder obstruction. The condition is life threatening and Pushkin had to be admitted to the vet immediately.

As a lot of you are aware, vet fees are extortionate and the insurance barely covers the minimum Pushkin needs.

Please read Alexandra’s statement below:

“My gorgeous feline Pushkin had to be urgently hospitalised on NYE with a bladder obstruction - a life-threatening emergency for cats that requires immediate veterinary care and if untreated leads to death within 24-48 hours. Unfortunately, this is brutally expensive, even if the insurance agrees to cover some of it (there’s previous history on his record which whilst not directly related, they’re trying to use in order to refuse the claim). Even with insurance I still need to come up with an estimate of £1700 out of pocket on top of the excess and fees I already paid (£300). This doesn’t include ongoing cost for urinary medication, check-ups, scans and special food he needs to switch to immediately. It only covers the initial 2 nights in intensive care, an ultrasound scan, blood tests and IV medication and fluids.

This comes at a time when I myself am faced with thousands of pounds for serious dental procedures and surgeries and in constant pain on antibiotics because I can’t afford to have the work done. I know most of us are struggling financially for one reason or another and have already given any spare cash to helping others survive a genocide. I hate I’m putting you in this position too and at such a time but I’ve already tried every other option (credit cards, overdraft, loans). I can live with the pain but my baby can’t survive without veterinary help. He and my dog, Grumm, are my only family, all I have in this world. Every penny counts and I’ll be forever grateful for your kindness and generosity.

Pushkin is only 2 and half years old and is the most loving, mischievous little tiger, the actual head of our family. He has never been seriously ill before and has the healthy appetite of a wild cat that even hot sauce and the neighbour’s doors/dogs don’t deter. He’s also Grumm’s best friend, even if he wouldn’t publicly admit it, and seeing how unsettled they’re without one another at the moment is both incredibly endearing and heart-wrenching. Push is a well-travelled cat that loves going on adventures with me and always sleeps under my chin. He’s the most resourceful creature I’ve ever met and that’s why he’s in charge of us all. As most of you know, Grumm is my best friend but Pushkin is my soul. Please help us overcome this debacle and you’ll be subscribed to a lifetime of purrs and indebtedness.“

Times are hard for everyone right now so we appreciate any donation, big or small, and/or sharing with your followers, friends and family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading Pushkin’s story!
