Let's Put Michael Together Again

In pure Michael Fiore fashion, after going 44 years without having broken a bone, riding in an ambulance, or being admitted to a hospital...while rescuing the family cat (who had been stuck in the top of a palm tree for 2 days), he climbed a 12 foot ladder (for the second time that evening) and while trying to fasten his safety harness, fell spectacularly to the one spot on the ground below that cushioned his fall enough where he only broke 11 ribs and his clavicle, and punctured his lung.  Go big or go home.  Or, in this case, go big AND get rushed to the emergency room.  Ouch.

We are so lucky in that this person we all adore is going to be okay.  He was in the ICU for several days, finally got transferred to his local hospital, has a chest tube, more broken bones than most people get in a lifetime, and had to have an epidural to handle the massive pain he is in, but he is going to be okay.  His wife, Ariella, and his kids, Magnolia and Maximillian and his friends and family are incredibly thankful that he landed the way he did.  (For the record, the cat stayed in the tree until friends and neighbors managed to get her out the next day).  

Michael has insurance, but the out of pocket costs are still significant.  We're hoping to raise enough money to help cover whatever needs may arise while he is recovering.  He is still in the hospital and surgery for the internal bleeding may still be necessary.  Since Michael works for himself, his only employee is quite broken, and the family could use our help.  

Michael and Ariella know how lucky they are, and know how much worse it could have been.  They are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from every corner of their lives...and with this fundraiser, we're hoping to give their friends and family an easy way to help them make this difficult time less financially stressful.
