Hurricane Dorian Bahamas: Care packages Delivered
Donation protected
Hello All,
First I would like to thank all of you for your prayers for my country.
My entire family lives the the Bahamas and it breaks my heart to see how my country is suffering right now.
Fortunately my immediate families live in southern Bahamas where they only lost power for about 5 days and some areas has flooding.
As you all have seen on the news this monster of a storm ripped through two major islands and destroyed everything in its path. The news is only reporting 40 deaths which is inaccurate and it is being reported that the death toll could be unimaginable . There are entire families that drowned or swept away by this storm and still missing.
With that being said My family and I here in Charlotte NC are packing care packages (toiletries) to send to take to Atlanta to be shipped to the Bahamas by the Bahamian Consulate. There are people that ensure the victims get the supplies.
We decided to fill care packages because they give a personal touch and give the victims a sense of ownership seeing that they lost everything in the storm.
So if you can a donate towards this cause it will be greatly appreciated. The goal is to fill 50+ care packages and get them shipped out in October 1st here is an update on this fundraiser: We have interviewed with a local news station here in Charlotte NC WSOC channel 9. Please see link below https://www.wsoctv.com/news/bahamas-native-living-in-charlotte-sends-care-packages-home-after-dorian/984174026 We ordered additional bins and will be ordering more supplies also. We are hoping to surpass our goal of 50 bins to 100 them co-ordinate with a shipping company to get the packages to the Bahamas Consulate. br />
Thank you
