Assaulted At Work
Donation protected
On July 11, 2022, Nicholas Martin was at work at Holiday, a gas station in Eden Prairie, MN. He had gone outside to empty the trash, where a customer became angry because he felt the trash can was in his way. There was a verbal exchange, and when Nick continued his work, the man punched Nick in the face, knocking him to the ground, and kicked him in the head and face multiple times. Thankfully this violent, unprovoked assault was caught on multiple security cameras, so the Eden Prairie Police are working to identify the perpetrator.
Nick was knocked unconscious and had a seizure. He was rushed to the hospital where after examination & CT scans it was discovered he had a brain bleed, causing a TBI/subdural hematoma on the right side of his head. He was in the hospital for 2 nights and was fortunately able to come home yesterday, 7/13/22.
He’s a 23 year old kid just trying to make a living. Nick is also in the US Army Reserve, and now cannot attend his drills or work at the gas station until he’s cleared by doctors. Due to this violent assault, Nick needs to be on anti-seizure medication for a while, has to follow up with Neurology, physical therapy and occupational therapy, and will be out of work for the foreseeable future.
No donation is to small-anything will help Nick be able to still pay rent, bills and eat until he’s cleared to go back to work. It’s too soon to know what, if any lasting effects this TBI will have, or if PTSD will be an issue. This kid was just trying to live his life and get ahead until some violent bully decided that today was the day he was going to hurt someone.
Thank you guys ❤️
