Josh's Cancer treatment

Hello everyone; my name is Allison (Allie); I am Josh Cawley's wife. Josh and I have been together for 15 years and happily married for 7 of those years. Two days before Josh's birthday this past May, he was diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer called Extraskeletal Myxoid Chondrosarcoma. The tumor is so rare that UNM Hospital brought Josh's case to The New Mexico Tumor Board, and they decided to refer him to MD Anderson in Houston, TX, for a second opinion. After a long and very difficult battle with insurance, Josh got a second opinion at MD Anderson on 08/26/2022. After a few appointments and traveling back and forth, we were told that the doctor got together with a radiation team and surgery team and decided that Josh's best option would be a hemipelvectomy, which is the removal of the entire leg. We were told on Sept. 16, 2022, that MD Anderson wants to start Josh's radiation treatment on Oct. 3rd, 2022, in Houston, TX, and we will have to plan to stay in Houston for about 8-9 weeks, depending on how Josh heals after surgery.

We did not have much time to save more money and prepare for this extended stay, and we are now asking for help. Anything and everything will be greatly appreciated and be a tremendous help. This procedure will be life-changing, and this money will be used for our house bills here in NM, the bathtub remodel to a walk-in shower, medical bills, and lodging in Houston for Josh, his mom (Judy), our dog (Odie) and I.

Josh is my best friend/soulmate, and my heart breaks seeing him in pain and having to endure all this. He has been so brave and strong throughout this whole process that I do not want him to worry about bills or money. Anything will help at this time, and thank you so much in advance.
