Support Riverbed Reading Series!
Finding community can be hard at any time, but the arts allow us the opportunity to reach across barriers and come together through creativity and curiosity. The first season of Riverbed Reading Series was fantastic and we are honoured that so many of you were able to help support us in paying our artists and keeping the series going.
As we move into our second season in a world of social distancing and isolation, we are continuing our series online and are hoping that you can help to keep us going, whether through a few dollars or a few dozen!
We believe that artists deserve to be paid for their work and all funds raised through this fundraiser will go directly to our performers, and to cover the administrative costs affiliated with running a series. We are excited to continue bringing you carefully curated iterations on a quarterly basis, and our second season has as much in store for you as our first!
Artists and organizers across Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Turtle Island and the world are helping us through this stressful time, and will continue to do so as we reshape our world.

ABOUT US:
Riverbed Reading Series is co-curated by Ellen Chang-Richardson, nina jane drystek, Joseph Mathieu & Rachel Weldon. We are driven by the belief that the artistic spheres are connected; and aim to be an inclusive, experimental gathering space at the very intersection of literature, music and performance.
When we set out to start Riverbed Reading Series in Fall 2019, we hoped to bring the literary cabaret to life in Ottawa-Gatineau through the curation of events that met at the intersection of literature, music and performance. We imagined Club SAW (our venue partner for 2020) alive with conversation, community exchanges and the brilliance of our performers. We looked forward to welcoming everyone to our contemporary cabaret. Now with COVID-19 health restrictions on social gatherings keeping us apart, we can continue to gather in a different way to share in the arts and their power to help us carry through.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Riverbed and for contributing if you are able. No matter where you go after this webpage, we hope you continue to support artists and organizers wherever you may be.
